About

This summer, we will be taking part in the RAF Benevolent Fund's 80 Miles in 80 Days challenge in celebration of the RAF Air Cadets 80th anniversary. The challenge will support the RAF Benevolent Fund, the RAF's leading welfare charity, and the RAF Air Cadets General Purposes Fund.

We are walking in memory of our Dad who passed away unexpectedly in April. Wing Commander Chris Peile was a test pilot who flew many aircraft but his favourite was always the Electric Lightning, hence the team name.

Amongst many other interests he was a keen walker and was encouraging us to walk the Wiltshire White Horse Trail, which he had done, on the day he went into hospital. So his daughters, Judith and Bridgitte, will pay tribute and remember him by walking over 80 miles within 80 days whilst raising funds for a charity that he supported.
